BREAKING NEWS; Orioles Sale To David Rubenstein Group Set To Finalize Wednesday

The day we’ve been waiting for is nearly upon us, Birdland.

No, I don’t mean Opening Day, though that’s certainly going to be welcomed with open arms.

The day before we get to see our 2023 AL East Champs run down the orange carpet, a much rarer and more monumental occurrence is set to take place. A moment we’ve not believed was actually going to happen ever since the news first reached our eyes & ears.

David Rubenstein

This is it, y’all. The final hurdle. No more worrying that suddenly John Angelos will back out of the deal.

Come Opening Day, David Rubenstein is expected to officially be the owner of the Baltimore Orioles.

Major League Baseball’s owners are scheduled to vote Wednesday on Rubenstein’s purchase of the team, people briefed on the process told The Athletic. Approval is a formality, BREAKING NEWS; Orioles Sale To David Rubenstein Group Set To Finalize Wednesday

While I know many O’s fans on social media have been clamoring for Mr. Rubenstein to take a stroll down the orange carpet himself on Thursday, I have another idea…

Lest we forget someone who is involved in the ownership group? A man who has some experience running down said orange carpet on Opening Day at Oriole Park at Camden Yards?

How’s this strike your ears?

“Please welcome, Baltimore Orioles minority owner, Cal Ripken Jr.!”

Wouldn’t it be cool for Rubenstein to send Cal down the runway from centerfield in his stead?

Half of the gathered crowd may simply ascend to baseball heaven on the spot.

Once the transition is finalized, it sure would be nice to hear rumblings of the team working on an extension with a Gunnar Henderson or Adley Rutschman, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves.

Welcome, Rubenstein group. Let’s win some ballgames, shall we?
