‘VERY EXCITINGX; 18-year-old could replace Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg as Tottenham set £20m price tag.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg could be set to head out the door at Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

The Dane racked up 39 appearances under Ange Postecoglou last season but struggled for starts, managing just eight in the Premier League.

Tottenham are on the lookout for reinforcements in the middle of the park, with Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher said to be a key target.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is already attracting interest from the likes of Fulham and former Spurs boss Jose Mourinho at Fenerbahce.

Despite links to a host of midfielders, a report from The Sunday Mirror has suggested the emergence of an academy product at Tottenham could lead to Hojbjerg’s departure.

Tyrese Hall emergence could lead to Hojbjerg exit

According to The Mirror [16/06, page 72], Hojbjerg is subject to interest from Atletico Madrid and Fenerbahce.

Spurs value the Dane at around £20 million, with Hojbjerg also entering the final year of his contract.

Interestingly, the outlet notes that the recent emergence of Tyrese Hall could also see Hojbjerg head out the door.

Hall set for first-team role at Tottenham?

Hall is yet to make his competitive debut for Spurs but got some minutes under his belt in a post-season friendly against Newcastle United.

Despite Tottenham losing 5-4 in a penalty shootout, the 18-year-old caught the eye and calmly dispatched his penalty.

The England U19 international was also part of the Tottenham U21s side which scooped the Premier League 2 last season.

Hall has been labelled a ‘very exciting’ talent and should Hojbjerg head out the door, there could be a spot up for grabs in the first-team.

He’s likely to face stiff competition for minutes though, particularly if Spurs do bolster their options in the deeper-lying midfield position.
