  • Leicester City may have plenty of work to do in their forward department this summer. However, this may not be a key area of focus during the early stages of the upcoming window, with the Foxes needing to raise funds before the end of June to give themselves a chance to comply with financial rules in the coming years.

Looking at their striker area, they won’t be raising a huge amount of money if Jamie Vardy, Kelechi Iheanacho, Patson Daka and Tom Cannon leave this summer, even though all four are excellent options to have in the Championship.

Whether all four players stay at the King Power Stadium remains to be seen, but it seems unlikely, with two of those players out of action during the summer window.

  • Tom Cannon’s situation at Leicester City

One player who hasn’t won much game time this term is Cannon, even though the Foxes reportedly forked out around £7.5m to lure him away from Everton.

He had impressed at Preston North End during the second half of last season, scoring eight goals in 21 appearances for the Lilywhites, which allowed the Toffees to demand a sizeable fee for him.

Despite the other options that Enzo Maresca has at his disposal, Cannon was expected to win an adequate amount of game time, as a player who has already proven himself at this level and will only get better with more game time under his belt.

But a stress fracture in his back meant he was on the sidelines during the early stages of his time at the King Power Stadium – and that hasn’t helped him to secure a decent number of appearances in all competitions this season.
