According to the Telegraph, talks between Wolves and the Bees are ongoing about a potential transfer. Wissa is on a shortlist that Wolves are drawing up as they prepare for the final two weeks of the summer transfer window. A transfer fee hasn’t been mentioned by Mike McGrath, the journalist that broke the news, but Wolves do have the financial firepower after the £54m sale of Pedro Neto to Chelsea.
Wissa is a versatile attacker that is capable of playing anywhere across the front line. The 27-year-old was entrusted to lead the line last for Thomas Frank’s men season and got 12 goals in 34 Premier League games for the West London outfit.
He is under contract at the Gtech Community Stadium until the summer of 2026, and so Brentford at least have some leeway when it comes to their negotiating position. Only England international Ivan Toney has scored more Premier League goals for Brentford than Wissa, since he joined from French side Lorient in the summer of 2021.
