NEWS LIVE: LIVERPOOL;; Slot gives Alexander-Arnold update, Tsimikas ‘leaving’, Gordon offered contract

Liverpool transfer news live as a contract is set to be placed on the table for Anthony Gordon – while Trent Alexander-Arnold’s future remains a hot topic on Merseyside

Liverpool transfer target Anthony Gordon could be offered a new contract

Liverpool supporters are eagerly anticipating some transfer news – as Arne Slot’s team intensifies its pre-season preparations.

The Reds are currently stateside, preparing to go head-to-head with Real Betis, Arsenal, and Manchester United. Slot is still without several of his key players, meaning a youthful squad will be taking the field in the coming weeks.

Pedro Neto is the latest name being bandied about, with reports indicating that discussions have taken place regarding a potential transfer for the Wolves superstar. He’s not the only one turning heads, with fans also buzzing about the possibility of Mohammed Kudus joining the ranks at Anfield, following links to Anthony Gordon.

Liverpool could accept Carvalho offer

There’s been a “new twist” over the future of Fabio Carvalho. That’s how Football Insider puts it, anyway.

The very same outlet claimed a few days ago that Carvalho would be given the chance to impress Arne Slot in pre-season, and would not be going anywhere. But it has apparently changed its mind on that score, suggesting that a loan deal could now be agreed later in the summer.

However, Liverpool remains committed to Carvalho in the longer-term, and has no intention of sanctioning a permanent deal. Interest in a loan is thought to be high.

Alexander-Arnold update

Liverpool fans have been thrown into a minor panic by pictures of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Jude Bellingham out to dinner together. The Real Madrid charm offensive is no joke, after all.

But Fabrizio Romano has given Caught Offside a somewhat reassuring update. He insists that Alexander-Arnold and Bellingham are simply good friends, and that it means nothing from a transfer perspective.

There has been no change in Real Madrid’s position. It is monitoring the Liverpool star, but has not stepped up its pursuit.
