NEWS TRENDS; Derby County receive Ebou Adams transfer response after major update.

The Rams are hoping to seal a deal for the midfielder who was exceptional last season

Ebou Adams is closing in on a move to Derby County with the Rams preparing to make him their fifth signing of the summer.

Adams was left out of Cardiff’s pre-season defeat to Kidderminster on Wednesday night with boss Erol Bulut confirming afterwards that a deal is close. Derby will hope to finalise the deal for a player they have been chasing for the majority of the summer following his excellent spell on loan last season.

The Rams will have to pay a fee for the ex-Forest Green Rovers midfielder who has a year left on his contract plus the option of another 12 months. But there is increasing hope that a deal can be done and the fans have certainly given the switch their backing for a player who remains hugely popular at Pride Park having made 17 appearances and scored one goal, which was a crucial winner against Blackpool.

Fans on DerbyshireLive have been talking about the potential of seeing Adams in black and white next season and here’s what they had to say.

Ramsfan67: “Let’s get him signed and through the door then turn our attention to goalkeepers.”

Gavinduenas: “Excellent news, fingers crossed. We had been crying out for a player like Adams for years and years, and his signing arguably made the difference to our promotion challenge. It would be great to bring him in permanently.”
