MARK HOWARD described Phil Parkinson as an “amazing” manager who encourages his players to speak up because success is achieved through a team effort.

The goalkeeper arrived at The Racecourse from Carlisle United in the summer of 22 and has played his part in Wrexham securing back-to-back promotions for the first time in the club’s history.

Offered a new contact, Howard is set to continue his association with Parkinson having played for the Reds’ boss when the duo were together at Bolton Wanderers.

 

Howard provided an insight into how Parkinson, who boasts more than two decades’ experience as a manager, works in the dressing room with his players.

“Phil and his staff lean on the players all the time. It’s a team effort, they encourage us to offer our views.

“Often we have played in the stadium before or with or against opposition players so you can help with video analysis. It’s things like this player likes to do this or this is their key attribute.

“They are constantly looking for little nuggets to get results. We are really competitive with stuff like that as a club, we want to get one over opposition teams.

 

“And the manager has played such a big role in our success. He just gets it.”
