NEWS NOW INTERESTING; Harry Kane names Tottenham player who was miles ahead of everyone in running test.

Harry Kane has named the current Tottenham Hotspur player who was miles ahead of everyone else in the team when the squad would do fitness tests.

Harry Kane, of course, has played alongside some outstanding players during his time at Tottenham, being part of the side which challenged for the Premier League title and reached the Champions League final.

This current Tottenham team appears to have real potential, with Ange Postecoglou’s side finishing fifth in his first year in charge. And, while Kane has now moved on, Spurs still boast a superb array of quality players.

It turns out that the player who covered the most ground in a single Premier League game this past season was a Spurs star, with Kane being asked who that player would have been in a segment for ESPN.

Kane decided to opt for one of his former teammates, and he was correct to do so.

“I’m going by who was the fittest at Tottenham, to be fair,” he said, as the answer was revealed to be Dejan Kulusevski.

“When I was there, we did some running tests in pre-season and he was, by far, the best, so that’s why I’ve gone with him. Just the tests we do, he was miles ahead of everyone,” he added, as he explained just how impressive the Swede’s fitness is.

Big season coming up for Dejan Kulusevski

Kulusevski is perhaps one player with a bit of a point to prove next season, with the winger only contributing three assists in the Premier League this past year.

He did score eight goals, but that included a final day brace against Sheffield United; he only managed to score one more league goal in 2024.

Interestingly, Kulusevski started that win up front, and that may leave Postecoglou with some food for thought this summer if Tottenham fail to sign another number nine.

Kulusevski was absolutely electric during his loan spell before his £25 million permanent move to North London, and he has perhaps not quite been able to rediscover that form since.

Having said that, judging by Kane’s comments, it would be no surprise if Postecoglou felt that Kulusevski was absolutely perfect for his team and continued to view him as a vital part of the squad.
