VERY IMPORTANT NEWS: Pratt to ill, Anderson up.

The Texas Rangers have placed pitcher Austin Pruitt on the 15 day injured list with a knee injury, it was announced today. To take Pruitt’s place on the active roster, the Rangers have recalled Ffrom AAA Round Rock.

This move was announced late, less than an hour before game time, so it may be the injury is something that flared up during warm ups or didn’t respond to treatment today as expected. Josh Sborz could be activated from the injured list as soon as tomorrow, so Anderson’s stay in the big leagues could be very brief.

he Rangers have claimed relief pitcher Kolton Ingram on waivers from the Mets

The Texas Rangers have claimed relief pitcher Kolton Ingram on waivers from the New York Mets, the team announced today. With this claim,

Ingram, 27, is a small (listed at 5’9”, 170 lbs.) lefthander who was originally drafted in the 37th round of the 2019 MLB Draft by the Detroit Tigers. He was released by the Tigers in June, 2020, and signed by the Anaheim Angels in March, 2021. The Angels purchased his contract in 2023, resulting in him being on the 40 man roster, and he appeared in five games for them last year, putting up an 8.44 ERA.

Ingram was waived in February by the Angels, claimed by the Tigers, waived again a couple of weeks later, and claimed by the Mets. He is on his second option, has pitched in five games in AAA this year, and hasn’t been good so fa

This is, I think, simply a matter of the Rangers using an open 40 man roster spot to get a look at an arm for free.
