Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are among a number of Premier League clubs paying close attention to Wolves gem Joao Gomes, HITC Football understands.

The 23-year-old has enjoyed an excellent season so far at Molineux after emerging as a key performer under Gary O’Neil. His performances for the Old Gold have also seen Gomes earn a recall to the senior Brazil squad and might even get his debut against England on Saturday.

Gomes earned his maiden full Brazil call-up in March 2023 after a promising start to his time at Wolves. He arrived in the West Midlands from the midfielder’s academy team, Flamengo, in January 2023. But his continued emergence as a key performer is attracting rival interest.

Gomes’ terms also include an option for another year and Wolves are not looking to let him leave already. But he is not the only Old Gold star to attract attention from rivals with Pedro Neto widely expected to leave. Rayan Ait-Nouri and Max Kilman have also attracted interest.

But, as with Gomes, Wolves insist they ‘do not have to sell anyone’ should clubs move in the summer. The Rio de Janeiro native, who boss O’Neil calls a ‘super talent’, has started in 22 of his 24 Premier League games this season. Gomes has also offered two goals and an assist.
