Leeds United: Jack Harrison transfer news emerges at Elland Road with talks set

Leeds United are set to discuss the future of Jack Harrison with his future up in the air, as it looks likely he will return to Elland Road this summer, according to Give Me Sport.

The sports news outlet reported via its website on 21 March that there is a feeling that Leeds are likely to offload the winger on a permanent deal when the transfer market opens.

This comes following his loan spell at Everton, with the financial situation at Goodison Park meaning a permanent move is likely to be unfeasible at this stage.

Will Jack Harrison leave Leeds United for good this summer?

It has been reported that Harrison has a £20million release clause in his contract with Leeds for clubs who want to secure his signature this summer, and whether that comes from Everton or elsewhere, such a large fee would be welcome eagerly at Elland Road.

However, that release clause is only said to become active if Leeds fail to achieve promotion. With Daniel Farke’s side currently at the top of the Championship, it looks like that opportunity will be missed.

If reports are to be believed, Everton would be able to make their loan deal permanent despite having no option to buy in the deal, with the release clause opening up the ideal opportunity for a long-term deal for the Toffees.

However, the financial situation at Goodison Park is a perilous one, and whether Everton would actually be able to fork out £20million on one transfer deal is a completely different question, and given their lack of spending in January, that looks highly unlikely.
