JUST IN; Bruno Guimaraes sends message to Newcastle supporters after FA Cup defeat vs Man City//.

Bruno Guimaraes has delivered a message to Newcastle United supporters following their 2-0 defeat to Manchester City yesterday.

It wasn’t a particularly poor performance up against the treble winners, but mistakes were again creeping into the game and that’s something you just can’t afford to do when playing at the Etihad.

After the game, Bruno took to social media where he posted a message to fans claiming that there is now 10 games left for Newcastle to ‘save our season’.

Bruno suggests Newcastle are in a bit of a crisis

Although he doesn’t use such strong vocabulary, it’s clear that even the players now feel like this season has been very disappointing and they know they should be doing much better.

Manchester City v Newcastle United - Emirates FA Cup Quarter Final

Yes, last season was completely unexpected and all of the players had overachieved to finish in the top four, but the standard is definitely above mid table at the minute and Newcastle still may not even achieve that.

Thanks to Monday’s defeat against Chelsea, the Magpies are at risk of falling into the bottom half of the Premier League which largely would be considered a failure by most and put a lot of pressure on Eddie Howe.

Of course, as Bruno claims, there is still lots of points up for grabs and Europe is still firmly on the table, but Newcastle will really have to up their game in the next couple of months.

On social media, Bruno posted: “Struggling to find words now! Disappointed to not go through in the FA Cup. We still have 10 games in the premier league to save our season. We count on our fans as always”

Bruno Manchester CitY could be off this summer

It’s fair to say that Bruno has looked a bit frustrated at times in the last couple of games, and who can really blame him after the performances that the whole team have been putting in.

Everyone knows that playing Champions League is the ultimate goal for the likes of Bruno and Alexander Isak and every season that they are out of the competition will feel like a waste, especially for the former Lyon man who will be 27 this year.

A footballer’s career is very short and should Newcastle continue down this path and end up finishing mid table with no European football there’s very few fans who would take umbrage with Bruno leaving.

There have already been rumours suggesting that the talented duo may be off in the summer if things continue, so it is absolutely imperative, for more than one reason, that Newcastle start to improve and quickly.
