Chelsea could lose out to Manchester United as they target French playmaker, Michael Olise. As reported by Football.London (h/t The Sun), Fabrizio Romano claims that the 22-year-old would ‘100%’ jump at any opportunity to join United.

The Red Devils have been long-time admirers of Olise. The French star has recorded six goals and three assists in 11 appearances this season. Arsenal are also said to be interested in the player but it seems like Manchester United will have the last say.

Old Trafford have been in desperate need of a good forward. Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho are good wingers but they aren’t consistent. Amad Diallo is also solid but lacks experience. Lastly, Antony has mostly been a non-factor for United.

Rasmus Hojlund has been the team’s only consistent performer this season. Pairing him along with Michael Olise next season would make for a deadly Manchester United attack. The Frenchman is also an excellent playmaker.

Michael Olise could kick off a new era at Manchester United.

If Mason Mount can live up to his potential having him and Olise on the team will also mostly solve the Red Devils’ creative issues. However, there is the question of who would be playing on the bench if the 22-year-old joins.

Will Erik ten Hag bench Garnacho or Marcus Rashford? Is the Dutchman even going to be there to make this decision? The Red Devils are set to undergo major changes and the is a big chance that they’ll start with their manager.

While things look positive a deal for Olise can only be made during the summer. A lot could change by the time United are able to approach.
