PAUL MULLIN is finding form at the right time of the season. The prolific striker

was on target for the third successive game as Wrexham came from behind to beat Morecambe 3-1 at The Mazuma Stadium on Saturday and maintain the promotion challenge in League Two.

Mullin, who also had an assist for James McClean’s equaliser, has found the back of the net five times in the last three matches having previously gone eight games without a goal.

That impressive strike rate, which includes a hat-trick in the 4-0 win against Accrington Stanley at the start of March, means leading scorer Mullin has netted 17 goals this season and he is closing in on the century mark for Wrexham.

Since arriving at The Racecourse in July 2021 from Cambridge United, the 29-year-old has scored 96 goals in all competitions.

Mullin is joint ninth with Billy Ashcroft in Wrexham’s list of all-time scorers. Albert Kinsey, who bagged 99 goals and is the Reds’ eighth highest scorer, is the next player that Mullin will be aiming to overtake.

Morecambe will be sick of the sight of Mullin who can’t stop scoring against the Shrimps.

Saturday’s goal means Mullin has found the net nine times in his last four games against Morecambe, one of his former clubs.

Phil Parkinson’s men registered their best result of the season in the reverse fixture when Mullin scored a hat-trick in the 6-0 victory in November.

Before joining the Reds, Mullin also put Morecambe to the sword on his way to being awarded the League Two Golden boot in Cambridge’s 2020–21 promotion campaign.

The frontman bagged both goals in a 2-1 home win and fired home a hat-trick when Cambridge triumphed 5-0 at Morecambe.
