West Ham ready to more than double England international target’s wages

West Ham United have reportedly set their sights on Bournemouth’s Dominic Solanke.

The report claims West Ham were the leading suitors for Solanke in the January transfer window and have already held talks with his camp.

Now, with the summer transfer window on the horizon, it looks as though the Hammers are looking to steal a march on their transfer rivals.

David Moyes held discussions with members of Solanke’s family following a recent Premier League fixture, according to the report.

They also claim that West Ham are now prepared to offer the Cherries ace a £115,000-a-week contract.

According to Spotrac, Solanke is currently on £50,000-a-week. The Hammers’ purported offer would more than double his wages.

In terms of price tag, Football Transfers claims Bournemouth want to start business at around £60million.

However, a fee of £45million is likely to be deemed ‘acceptable’ for the south coast side, added the report.

West Ham target Dominic Solanke surely in England manager’s thoughts ahead of Euro 2024 – opinion

Solanke is enjoying a superb season this term, registering 16 goals in all competitions including 14 in the Premier League. He also has four assists this season.

Solanke’s tally has seen him go joint-fourth in the Premier League scoring rankings alongside Hammers talent Jarrod Bowen.

The former Chelsea talent had never previously scored more than six in a single Premier League term.

Solanke’s efforts will likely be giving England manager Gareth Southgate some food for thought ahead of Euro 2024.

The reported Hammers target has one Three Lions cap to his name, from all the way back in 2017.

However, Solanke has certainly done more than enough to warrant England selection – at least for the friendlies – in the coming months.

West Ham could certainly do with bolstering their attacking ranks and Solanke would be a great addition to the claret-and-blue ranks.
