JUST IN; Daniel Farke says 24-year-old Leeds player will ‘definitely miss’ the clash v Stoke City

Leeds United v Stoke City: Jamie Shackleton will definitely miss out

Leeds United will look to return to winning ways when they face Stoke City in the Championship at Elland Road on Tuesday night (5 March).

The Whites are heading into this match on the back of a 1-1 draw against Huddersfield, and Daniel Farke will be looking to pick up all three points at home.

  • Leeds have remained undefeated in 2024, and they are the only team in the Championship who haven’t lost a game at home.

The competition for the automatic spot in the Championship is so tight this season and the league table can change very quickly.

Ahead of the match, Farke confirmed in the pre-match conference that Jamie Shackleton will “definitely miss” the clash against Stoke City, and he will also miss the next game as well. After that he will be fit to play.

“Jamie Shackleton, we know what the problem was, the concussion protocol, this means he will definitely miss out on this game and also the game at the weekend at Sheffield,” said Farke

  • Jaidon Anthony would definitely miss this game for private reasons. Shackleton, 24, also missed the previous game against Huddersfield, and it’s a good move that the Whites are not rushing him back.

Only a few weeks back, Leicester City were leading the table by 12 points. But a mini-slump in form has seen the gap now reduced to just three at the top. Ipswich Town are three points behind the Foxes, while Leeds are just five points behind them.

In a long season, clubs are bound to drop points at some phases, but what matters is how they pick themselves up. Leeds need to bounce back strongly and pick up all three points to put pressure on Leicester, Ipswich and even Southampton.

Leeds have been outstanding this season at Elland Road, and they are likely to pick up all three points against a side that have picked up only two wins from their last eight games.
