Macari, Blake, Berry and Iwelumo feature at latest loyalty event

Four Stoke City favourites were on hand to provide stories of yesteryear at the Club’s latest loyalty event for Season Card holders on Thursday night.
Lou Macari, Noel Blake, George Berry and Chris Iwelumo delivered tales from their respective careers on a night of nostalgia in Ricardo’s at the bet365 Stadium.
Former manager Macari took to the stage alongside Blake, with much light-hearted debate between the duo about the defender’s remuneration during his time at the Victoria Ground in the early 90s.
Berry and Iwelumo, whose respective City careers were over a decade apart, reflected on their journeys to becoming Potters and how supporters took to them both, making Stoke a home from home.
Chief Operating Officer Simon King opened the event, which was hosted by BBC Radio Stoke’s Lucas Yeomans, and discussed several off the pitch matters, including the Club’s recently released Fan Engagement Plan and Fan Zone.
City’s loyalty events commenced at the start of the 23/24 campaign and see randomly selected Season Card holders invited to evenings in Ricardo’s, where they are welcomed with complimentary food and a drink on arrival.
Legends such as Denis Smith and Ryan Shawcross have starred at previous events, while current first team players have also taken part in the Q&As throughout the season.
Further events are set to be held throughout 2024.
