Jaidon Anthony transfer news drops as Leeds United agree Elland Road exit

Jaidon Anthony is due to return to Bournemouth for pre-season as there is no option for Leeds United to buy him at the end of his loan spell, according to the Daily Echo.

The newspaper shared via their website on 8 February that, after a fee was agreed for Bournemouth to sign Luis Sinisterra permanently, Anthony’s deal has not been impacted.

Anthony moved to Elland Road on loan as part of the deal which saw Sinisterra move to the South Coast on the final day of the summer transfer window so that Daniel Farke wasn’t left short of options.

Since arriving at Leeds in the summer, the winger has made 21 appearances under Farke, scoring just one goal and failing to provide a single assist in what have proved to be fairly uninspiring numbers.

The poor ratio can be explained by the fact that, of those 21 appearances, just two have come from the start, and he averages just 20 minutes per game this season [Sofascore] – hardly enough time to truly make his mark on the first-team.

Top-tier performances from both Crysencio Summerville and Daniel James have locked down places on both wings, while Wilfried Gnonto is usually the preferred option from the bench, pushing Anthony down the pecking order at Elland Road.

It comes as no surprise, therefore, that it looks unlikely as things stand that the winger will remain in Yorkshire beyond the expiry of his loan deal come the summer, and is due to begin pre-season with the Cherries rather than the Whites.
