‘Fabulous’… Fulham captain Tom Cairney super impressed by what he’s just seen from Chelsea 24-year-old

Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher showed his class in yesterday’s win against Crystal Palace by scoring his first Premier League goals of this season.Conor Gallagher, who’s been missing goals from his game this term, netted two excellent finishes in Monday night’s 3-1 away win at Crystal Palace.

The 24-year-old midfielder produced two superb first-team shots to earn the Blues three points in the Premier League.

On top of his goal in the FA Cup last week, Gallagher’s finding the kind of attacking form we’ve seen from him in the past.

Tom Cairney, 33, is a Premier League midfielder that captains London rivals Fulham.

While working on punditry this week, he admitted he was super impressed by the two goals from Chelsea’s Gallagher in his appearance.

“Two fabulous finishes in the end [from Conor Gallagher] but Chelsea ran away with it in the second half and were the better team,” Cairney told the Premier League’s coverage of Crystal Palace vs Chelsea (10:19pm, 12 February).

Super impressive Conor Gallagher

It’s been great to see Gallagher ignite into a purple patch of form so close to the League Cup final.

The Blues face Manchester City in the league this Saturday before a trip to Wembley Stadium the following weekend to compete for the Carabao Cup trophy against Liverpool.

In our view, Gallagher’s definitely going to be in the starting XI on cup final day.

Blues head coach Mauricio Pochettino has definitely been fighting to find the right formula in his side. We think Gallagher makes things a lot easier for him when he’s on form.

Speaking via X after Chelsea’s win this week, John Terry praised goalscorers Gallagher and Enzo Fernandez.

In fairness, Gallagher and Fernandez should feel an extra responsibility to score goals in this team given the lack of an out-and-out prolific No 9.
