Tottenham Desperately making efforts to sign premier league superstar

Tottenham Hotspur are making a serious effort to sign Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite in the summer transfer window.

Spurs bolstered their defence in the January transfer window by signing Radu Dragusin from Genoa. However, Ange Poastecoglou is looking to add another top-quality centre-back to the ranks and has earmarked Bratnhwaite as a potential option.

The 21-year-old defender has been “outstanding” for the Toffees this season, and he has been regular under Sean Dyche at Goodison Park.

According to a report from the Daily Mail, Spurs could face competition from Manchester United for his signature. While the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal and Real Madrid have also enquired about the defender, Spurs are “making the most concerted effort” at this stage.Transfer Talk: Manchester United plot Jarrad Branthwaite swoop to ...

If Spurs manage to finish in the top four this season, they will have the financial boost to make a concrete attempt to sign Branthwaite in the summer.

Blockbuster deal

Brathwaite has displayed his class for Everton at the back this season and has earned rave reviews from pundits and his manager.

He is on £35k-per-week deal at Goodison Park, and the Toffees are under no pressure to sell him. He is seen as a “Rolls Royce defender”, and Everton are expected to demand a fee of around £100m for his signature.

Report claims Everton could loan out teenager Jarrad Branthwaite this week

Everton are once again fighting for Premier League survival after they were docked ten points for breaching financial fair play rules. They could face further punishment as well, and if that happens, it will become very difficult for them to secure their Premier League status next season.

In any case, Everton may have to sell some of their top players next summer to fund moves for new arrivals, and Branthwaite has emerged as one of their top assets.

He will be a blockbuster signing for Postecoglou but looks unlikely that Spurs will pay that sum for Branthwaite. Everton probably won’t reduce their asking price if they stay in the Premier League.
