Versatile defender Ben Jackson joined Barrow for an undisclosed fee on Tuesday

Former Huddersfield Town defender Ben Jackson has described his move to Barrow as a “really good opportunity” to get more game time under his belt.

The 23-year-old Town academy graduate has opted to depart the Terriers after nine years at the club,

 

Jackson made 56 first-team appearances in total for Town, 27 of which were made last season, but the defender is eager to feature more regularly in a side that finished eighth in their division last term.

“I’m really excited. I think it’s a really good opportunity for me to come here, play some games,

 

 

The 20-year-old was involved with the Terriers’ first team in pre-season and was included in the training camp squad,

“It feels amazing. It feels good to get started, get up here and I can’t wait to make a name for myself,” the loanee told his club’s website.

“The gaffer (Stephen Clemence) called me and he seemed really eager to talk to me and get to know me and let me know he really likes how I play,
