SPACKLING NEW: CARDIFF CITY AND RANGERS ‘IN SIX-CLUB FIGHT’ FOR STOKE CITY FORWARD

The forward is generating plenty of interest following his release from Stoke City this summer

Cardiff City are reportedly among six clubs battling it out for recently released forward Tyrese Campbell.

The 24-year-old is looking for a fresh start following his recent release from Stoke City earlier in the summer, and the Bluebirds are believed to be among a clutch of clubs interested in his signature.

The Daily Mail claims Scottish giants Rangers are among those keen, having previously tried to make a deal happen back in 2020, while there’s also interest from the Champions

As well as City, Preston North End, Queens Park Rangers, Sheffield United and West Bromwich Albion have all been credited as “admirers” of Campbell, who made 164 appearances for the Potters during an eight-year spell, netting 36 goals.

Despite his departure, he clearly still has a deep affection for the Potters, posting an emotional farewell on his social media when his exit was announced back in May.

He wrote: “I joined Stoke City as a boy with a dream of playing in the Premier League. Whilst I wish that for the cub and myself it had happened more often, I will be forever grateful to those who made it a reality.

“And to my team-mates, coaches, staff and everyone I had the pleasure to work with, thank you for everything.
