DISGUSTING: Super Dane chooses Rennes in a €15 million deal, delaying Leicester’s decision

The best player in Norwegian football at the moment, Danish midfielder Albert Grønbæk has made a move to French club Rennes. This is the same player than in November 2023 was seen as a possible Leicester signing.

Albert Grønbæk never left Bodø Glimt in the January transfer window, despite seeing interest from different clubs at a much higher shelf than Rennes.

So why did Lille, Galatasaray and Leicester not return to bring this talented midfielder to their club, instead of letting Rennes win this €15million race.

In the recent topic discussing Norwegian players, English clubs looks to be interested in other players, coming from a league of higher standards, than taking a player directly from Norway. Some voices even talk about the fact that players mostly play on artificial turfs, makes them different, but that looks an excuse we do not believe in.

In the past we have seen players from the Norwegian league being scouted to join clubs in Holland, Belgium, Germany, Italy. You also have a few moving to MLS, and of course a few swops inside Scandinavia, between Denmark, Sweden and Norway. Icelandic players are also very popular, due to their work ethic and attitude.

Leicester are still an attractive club for players to join as we see recruitment from the highest shelf in Serie A and Premier League as a base for this summer’s recruitment.
