INTERESTING NEWS; Aston Villa open to selling ‘brilliant’ player for around £11m.

Aston Villa have been pretty busy on the transfer front over the past week or so.

The Villans finished fourth in the Premier League to qualify for the Champions League, so they’ll need to strengthen to ensure they can handle the additional workload.

Villa have been spinning several plates of late. They have signed Lewis Dobbin from Everton, who in turn have landed Tim Iroegbunam from the West Midlands club.

The Villans are also in talks with Juventus over a cash-plus-player deal that should see Douglas Luiz head to Turin, while Ian Maatsen is reportedly close to joining Villa.

Now, a report has emerged regarding a player who wants to leave the Villans, and how much they want to earn from his potential sale.

The player in question is Alex Moreno and, according to Spanish outlet Estadio Deportivo, Villa want as close to €13million (£11million) as they can if they are to sell him.

Moreno reportedly wants to return to Real Betis, who in turn are keen on acquiring the full-back’s services once again.

The report claims that, while Betis have already finalised a deal for Romain Perraud, they still want another left-back as Juan Miranda is set to leave.

Moreno is on their shortlist, according to Estadio, who note how the player was recently spotted at a Seville airport alongside Betis sporting director Manu Fajardo.

Although the club suggested that it was a coincidence, Estadio claim Moreno still has a great relationship with the Spanish club, and they’d like to have him back if they can.

And with Villa set to sign Maatsen, they would have three players in that position, suggesting Moreno could be allowed to leave.

However, a valuation of £11million would be too steep for Betis at this moment in time.

Moreno faces uncertain future at Villa

Alex Moreno is a top talent who has featured regularly for Villa when available and has contributed a lot to the cause.

Ian Wright once deemed him “brilliant” following his assist in Aston Villa’s 1-1 draw against West Ham in March 2023 (Premier League Productions, 12/3/23, 3:00 pm).

However, with Maatsen’s seemingly imminent arrival, it looks as though Moreno’s future at Villa could now be uncertain.

Moreno himself seems keen on a return to Seville, but with his valuation out of Betis’ reach, this could complicate things.
