Leeds United are set to see Jack Harrison leave the club on loan for Everton imminently, but the Toffees are pressing on with transfer business that is going to simultaneously boost their PSR standing and render Harrison far less important a signing.

Paraag Marathe is going to have far fewer headaches this summer on the basis of the loan clauses that were rife last summer.

Two remain active after Leeds lost in the Championship playoff final, Marc Roca and Jack Harrison being the relevant parties, but only Harrison looks like using his.

Jack Harrison agrees Everton transfer, confirmation imminent

Harrison spent 23/24 on loan at Everton, where he was seemingly performing well enough for Sean Dyche to think favourably of the winger.

After Leeds were beaten in the playoff final, it allowed Everton to press on with keeping him there for a second season, which was seemingly agreed last week.

While there has been no announcement yet, there is nothing standing in the way of Harrison returning to Goodison Park for a second successive season.

Everton wanting to sign eye-catching winger Yankuba Minteh from Newcastle

Everton’s winger business isn’t done there though, as the weekend has seemingly sparked some intriguing transfer activity amongst Premier League clubs with regards to their PSR standing.

A number of top flight clubs, including Everton, have stumbled upon a method that looks to represent a PSR workaround, as the Toffees confirmed Aston Villa midfielder Tim Iroegbunam for £9million (amortised over three years) while selling Lewis Dobbin to Villa for similar fee (pure profit).

They are now in negotiations with Newcastle over a deal that looks to be on the same lines, as Dominic Calvert-Lewin looks to be nearing a St James’ Park transfer for around £35million.

Going the other way in a ‘separate’ transfer could be Newcastle youngster Yankuba Minteh off the back of a stunning spell at Feyenoord, as Fabrizio Romano revealed:

The Daily Mail claimed that the 19-year-old right-winger could cost around £30million for the Toffees, which represents a major worry for Harrison, who could already be looking at a reduced role under Dyche before he’s even signed.

Such a hefty commitment from Everton surely comes with Minteh playing as often as possible, given how well he played in the Eredivisie last season as well.

Harrison left a lot to be desired from the Toffees fanbase’s perspective, and if they land such a talented youngster in Minteh, the Leeds winger is sure to be further down the pecking order.
