NEWS TO GO; Three League One strikers Wrexham can sign for £0 right now to partner Paul Mullin.

Paul Mullin needs a new striker partner at Wrexham, and plenty are available on a free transfer this summer.

Phil Parkinson will be working hard behind the scenes to acquire the players he needs at Wrexham this summer.

A football finance expert has claimed that the Reds can spend up to £12 million given they’re pulling Championship-sized revenue however, Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds are unlikely to spend close to that sum.

For Wrexham, a stable transfer window is what the doctor ordered and Parkinson has been scouring the leagues for the best free transfers available, with a new strike partner for Paul Mullin nearing the top of his priorities.

Luckily, plenty of League One strikers are available for a price of £0…

Dwight Gayle of Derby County is playing in the Sky Bet League 1 match between Derby County and Blackpool at Pride Park in Derby, England, on March ...

Stephen Humphrys

Stephen Humphrys popped onto their radar last month following his release from Wigan Athletic.

The 26-year-old is currently looking for a new club after leaving the Latics and most in League One would surely be tempted to sign him.

Humphrys scored 11 goals in 46 matches last term, and although that isn’t the most prolific record, the talented striker offers more than just potency in front of goal.

The Oldham-born sharpshooter is excellent at playing with his back to goal, shielding the ball for his teammates and challenging defenders physically.

Parkinson loves to play a physically imposing striker next to Mullin and for a cost of £0, he could land a bargain this summer.

Devante Cole

Devante Cole, the son of former Manchester United striker Andy, is currently looking for his next challenge after leaving Barnsley.

The 29-year-old is fresh from firing the Tykes into the play-offs last term with 18 goals in all competitions.

Cole is the ideal striker to partner Mullin as not only is he a quick, strong and powerful operator, he’s calmness personified in front of goal.

A complete nuisance for defenders physically and lethal when the chances arise, Cole is arguably the best striker on the market for any League One club to pick up.

Wrexham would have to act fast as once his contract expires in South Yorkshire, a queue of clubs will be lining up for his signature.

Dwight Gayle

Dwight Gayle was signed by Derby in February as the Rams needed a short-term fix after losing James Collins to injury.

Although a hamstring injury denied him the appearances he would have liked, he did score three goals in five starts for the club.

Sadly, after Derby were promoted to the Championship, he was released from his contract and can now be signed for nothing.

Wrexham are used to signing experienced players approaching the end of their careers, doing so with the acquisitions of James McClean and Steven Fletcher last summer.

Parkinson can continue that trend by linking up with one of the greatest strikers the EFL has seen in the past decade, with Gayle scoring 62 goals in 145 Championship appearances.
