READ MORE about Gareth Bale’s response to Wrexham following the most recent Rob McElhenney appeal.

Welsh legend Gareth Bale has already given his answer following Rob McElhenney’s latest stunning proposal.

Wrexham’s status as a football club has skyrocketed since Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds arrived in Wales.

The Hollywood owners have injected life into a town that was lacking and transformed the beliefs of everyone associated with the club, including in the transfer market.

Last summer, the Reds signed ex-Premier League players James McClean and Steven Fletcher whilst in March 2023, Luke Young recalls the ‘surreal’ feeling when Ben Foster made the switch.

Following their return to League One, Wrexham have to turn their ambition up a notch with Humphrey Ker failing to rule out a move for Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy, who quashed those rumours by signing a new contract with the Foxes.

The latest high-profile player to have his name mentioned, meanwhile, is Gareth Bale, with McElhenney recently claiming an offer is still on the table for Wales’ all-time top scorer.

Gareth Bale has already responded to Rob McElhenney’s appeal

The last marquee signing Wrexham truly made was Foster arriving at the Racecourse Ground last year and it appears McElhenney wants to replicate those headlines by prising Bale to the club.

In his attempts to entice the 34-year-old back to Wales, he promised him he could play golf whenever he fancied and would want him to give his all in training and make himself available for action.

“Gareth Bale is still technically available! I made the plea last year and I’m just going to tell Gareth that the offer is still on the table,” said McElhenney. “We’ll let him play golf whenever he wants. Just as long he comes training and we’ll figure out how to get him in the team.”

Unfortunately, the chances of getting Bale out of retirement to join the League One side are incredibly slim.

The former Real Madrid star hung up his boots in January 2023 following a brief spell with MLS side LA FC and has previously quashed any rumours of him signing for Wrexham.

“I’m spending a lot of time with my kids, my wife, time that I’ve lost so much over the years being committed to football. I’m just enjoying family life and playing some golf.”

The ambition of Wrexham can be admired

McElhenney and Reynolds know how to place Wrexham front and centre of the headlines.

By showing their ambition to sign Bale, they’re only attracting more attention to the football club and in turn, that is only beneficial.
