West Ham United: Sources claim Fulham boss Marco Silva now in frame to replace David Moyes

Marco Silva could emerge as a candidate to replace the under-pressure David Moyes at West Ham, according to GiveMeSport.

The news outlet reported on its website on Tuesday (5 March) that sources have revealed that the Hammers could turn to the Fulham boss if they decide to appoint a manager from within the Premier League should the Scotsman leave at the end of the season.

It added that Thomas Tuchel, who is set to leave Bayern Munich this summer, will be explored by the Irons, while technical director Tim Steidten also admires Lille manager Paulo Fonseca and Feyenoord boss Arne Slot.

Marco Silva could underwhelming appointment for West Ham

The speculation surrounding Moyes’s future continues to rumble on despite West Ham picking up back-to-back victories over the past week against Brentford and Everton.

It’s likely that the rumours will fly about until the end of the season unless a decision is made before the Scotsman’s contract is due to run out.

While Silva has done a good job at Fulham, it would probably be seen as a slightly underwhelming appointment amongst the fans and questions would be asked about whether it is actually an upgrade.

West Ham

West Ham United manager David Moyes is under immense pressure.

If the Hammers are to move Moyes on, then the favoured candidate would surely be someone who has experience managing in Europe and could potentially take the club to the next level.

That is more likely to be someone like Tuchel, but whether or not he would be interested in making the move to the London Stadium is anyone’s guess at this moment in time.
