Fabrizio Romano says someone at Tottenham absolutely loves £70m forward

Fabrizio Romano has now been lifting the lid on some of Tottenham Hotspur’s potential transfer plans for the coming summer.

Tottenham announce Ange Postecoglou with contract length confirmed and ...

Ange Postecoglou is still only in the early days in his squad building at the club, but has been making considerable progress.

Timo Werner perhaps proved on Saturday that he could represent an excellent piece of business at a cut-price if Spurs choose to sign him permanently.

And there will certainly be a fair few important decisions to be made in the off-season, especially with Tottenham’s squad looking more full with players returning from injury.

Perhaps it will be akin to a one in, one out policy, even if the club will almost certainly have European football to consider next season as well.

That being said, Fabrizio Romano has now been detailing Tottenham’s interest in one key move for the summer.

Romano was speaking on ‘The Here We Go Podcast’ and shared that Spurs are currently in the running for Wolverhampton Wanderers star Pedro Neto.

The journalist said that Neto is expected to leave once this campaign concludes, and is admired by staff at Hotspur Way.

Fabrizio Romano says Tottenham remain interested in signing Pedro Neto this summer

Romano said that he’s heard there’s someone at Tottenham who is a ‘big fan’ of Neto’s skill set right now.

He explained: “Wolves have not communicated any price tag for Pedro Neto but the feeling, speaking to sources, is that in the summer he is expected to join a very important club.

“He has been in the list of many clubs in recent years, a few years ago he was really appreciated by Arsenal, and then Liverpool and also other clubs started following him.

“I will include Tottenham because I am hearing that there is someone in the club [who is] a big fan of the skills of Pedro Neto.

“So a lot of interest so let’s see what happens there, but the Portuguese winger is absolutely going to be one of the names of the summer.”

Of course, given how well Neto performed in front of the Tottenham staff not so long ago, Romano’s talk of summer interest probably shouldn’t be a surprise.

The £70m-rated winger has dazzled in the Premier League this season having returned from some unfortunate injuries.

And it would seem Spurs could still face some tough competition if they do pursue a deal.

That being said, Tottenham have recently proved how astute they can be in the transfer market.
