In a recent video shared on Nottingham Forest’s official Tik Tok channel, Origi was picking a starting XI by choosing players for each position in a draft style based on their EA FC 24 cards.

When the Belgian got to the right-back position, Origi had to choose either Walker or Lahm and eventually went for the Englishman.

City signed the defender from Tottenham Hotspur back in the 2017 summer transfer window for £50m.

Since then, the England international has made 288 appearances for the Citizens before today’s Premier League clash at Bournemouth.

During his time at the Manchester club, the full-back has scored six goals, delivered 21 assists and won a lot of trophies including five Premier League titles.

Then with Lahm, he spent 22 years at Bayern Munich where he made 517 senior appearances after working his way through the youth ranks, scoring 16 goals and supplying 70 assists.

Pep Guardiola has shared his praise for both players in the past, firstly

by describing Lahm as a “fantastic” and “intelligent” player back in 2017 when the German announced his retirement.

More recently, the City boss said that Walker is a “unique” player due to his physical abilities, which make him incomparable to anyone else.

With all of that in mind, it would have been a hard choice for Origi to decide between the two defenders, making it such a compliment to Walker that he picked him over such a respected player like Lahm.
