SENSATIONAL NEWS: BECAUSE OF THREE POTENTIAL MANCHESTER UNITED PLAYERS, FULHAM ARE CONFIDENT ABOUT THEIR CHANCE TO BEAT MANCHESTER UNITED MERCILESSLY.

Three options for Manchester United to replace Rasmus Hojlund vs Fulham

Just when things were starting to look very promising for Manchester United, we’ve been hit by a serious blow.

Luton Town v Manchester United - Premier League

After an incredible run of form which has seen four consecutive league victories, things at Manchester United are on the up.

In this run, the most important player has been Rasmus Hojlund who’s scored seven goals in his last six games, and the youngest player to score in six consecutive Premier League games ever.

Now though, he’s been sidelined by a muscle injury and is set to miss a few weeks. This leaves United without a proper number nine and so Erik ten Hag will need to move things around.

Here are three ways United can replace Hojlund during his injured spell…

Marcus Rashford

For Ten Hag this is probably the most likely option given his successful season last year playing up front. But Marcus Rashford has struggled there this season as it’s not his favoured position.

On top of this, moving Rashford into the middle would disrupt the successful wing combination of him and Alejandro Garnacho and likely cause the 19-year-old Argentine to be moved left.

For this reason, it may be better bringing another player into the line-up rather that trying to reconfigure the entire front-line.

Scott McTominay

One player that hasnt technically been deployed as a striker or United yet but effectively plays the role every game is Scott McTominay.

The Scottish international basically plays alongside Hojlund when he makes his substitution appearances so starting him up front wouldn’t be too different.

McTominay is United’s second top scorer this season behind Hojlund on eight and his finishing, physicality and playstyle all well-suited to being a number nine.

McTominay could thrive in that position and his inclusion there would allow the rest of the attack to remain settled. We suggested this option last time Hojlund was injured but with his hot streak continuing, perhaps it’s time to pull the trigger on this.

Amad Diallo

Option three on the list for Ten Hag will – like McTominay – allow the other parts of the forward line to remain the same.

Amad Diallo could be deployed as something of a false nine, interchanging across the line in what could be a fluid front three.

Amad would also be deserving of the additional minutes as it’d give him time to impress albeit in a non-natural role.

No option is ideal, and Ten Hag has an incredibly difficult decision on his hands
